Over £50,000 Awarded to Boost Digital Inclusion for Social Housing Tenants
Social housing tenants across South and Mid Wales are set to benefit from vital digital support, thanks to a new grant of over £50,000 awarded to Newydd Housing Association.
The funding, provided through the Welsh Government’s Minimum Digital Living Support programme, will enable at least 40 households to access tailored digital inclusion support. This projects aims to:
- Provide essential digital devices to bridge the connectivity gap and eliminate digital exclusion;
- Build confidence and digital skills to help tenants navigate and thrive in an increasingly online world.
Scott Tandy, Digital Inclusion Officer at Newydd Housing Association, welcomed the funding, saying:
“This is fantastic news for our tenants and will make a real difference. Too often, digitally excluded households struggle to be heard or access essential services. This grant will help change that—ensuring people not only get online but gain the skills and confidence to use digital tools to improve their lives.”
This initiative marks a significant step toward closing the digital divide and ensuring that everyone - regardless of background or income -can participate fully in modern society.
