Cadwyn propose to join Newydd Group
Cadwyn Housing Association and Newydd Housing Association have been looking at ways of working together to provide excellent services for all of our customers across mid and south Wales. If the proposal goes ahead, Cadwyn will continue operating as its own legal entity but will become a subsidiary of Newydd Group. The target date for Cadwyn Housing Association to become a member of Newydd Group is autumn 2024. We are sharing our intentions with you here and giving you more information about what this means for you.
Why are we considering this?
By expanding the business, we can share resources and skills and become more efficient, which would release money to invest in our homes and developing services. We will continue to operate with our focus on our tenants at the heart of all that we do.
Adding Cadwyn as a new member of the Newydd Group will also increase the financial resilience of both organisations and enhance our ability to carry on providing affordable homes, despite the challenging external environment.
What does it mean for you?
As a resident of Newydd Housing Association, your landlord will remain the same. The conditions of your tenancy or lease and the services you are provided with will not change. Your rent will remain the same and will be increased annually in accordance with Welsh Government guidelines.
Engagement with our residents
We welcome your feedback on this proposal and will share the responses with the Newydd Board when they consider whether to approve Cadwyn joining the Group or not. All residents will be informed of the ultimate decision made as to whether to proceed.
Attached to this letter is a leaflet setting out some more detail about the proposal as well as a list of frequently asked questions that will give you more information to hopefully answer any questions you may have.
