Our Commitment
At Newydd Housing Association, we are dedicated to working with you to ensure your home remains safe, secure, and free from infestations of pests and vermin. We all have a role to play in this, and we all have responsibility to ensure that the environment in and around your home is well maintained and kept pest and vermin free.
Our Responsibilities
Structural Repairs: We handle repairs for structural issues such as holes or cracks in walls or floors, missing roof tiles, broken vents, air bricks, and external doors or windows.
Pest Control in Communal Areas: We manage pest control in communal areas. The cost will be service charged back to tenants within the block of flats. If pests affect multiple properties, our surveyor will inspect to identify the source of the issue. If the source is identified as being caused by an individual tenant, then they could be charged for the treatment.
Your Responsibilities
Pest Prevention: Ensure no food sources attract pests in your home or garden. Keep bins covered, do not leave food, or rubbish out, and regularly treat pets for fleas.
Pest Control in Your Home: If pests are found in your home, you are responsible for treatment. If you cannot afford treatment and it affects neighbouring properties, we will arrange for treatment and charge you for the cost. For any pest issues, we recommend contacting your local authority’s pest control or Environmental Health team.
