Electrical Testing Programme
Our compliance department is currently in the process of contacting tenants to request your co-operation with our electrical testing programme.
Some of you may have already had your property tested and some of you may be contacted soon to book an appointment with one of our electrical contractors.
If you receive a letter, text or phone call regarding this, please book an appointment as soon as possible. This is important so that we ensure the safety of all electrics within your home.
If you have any queries please call our Customer Services team on 0303 040 1998 or email compliancecertificates@newydd.co.uk
Pride Cymru
Did you see us at Pride Cymru?
We had a brilliant time taking part in the parade. We joined Tai Pawb and other housing associations in Wales to celebrate equality and diversity to spread the message “Hate has no home here”.
Is there a Pride event coming up in your area? Let us know if you’d like us to be there!
Eisteddfod Rhondda Cynon Taf
The National Eisteddfod is taking place in Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd this year from Saturday 3rd August to Saturday 10th August at:
Ynysangharad Park, 8 Ceridwen Terrace, Pontypridd, CF37 4PD
Visit our stand at the Maes! We will be joining Cadwyn, Cynon Taf Community Housing and Trivallis.
You can find out more information about the Eisteddfod and how to get tickets here.
Remember your photo ID to vote
You must bring photo ID to vote on Thursday 4th July
Voters across Wales are being urged to remember their ID when they go to the polling station on Thursday 4th July 2024.
You will need to show photo ID at polling stations before you can receive your ballot paper. Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport; a UK or EEA drivers’ licence; some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person’s bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card; and the free Voter Authority Certificate. Voters will be able to use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.
Your ID will be checked by polling station staff. An area will be available at the polling station so that you can choose to have your photo ID viewed in private if you wish. Anyone arriving at the polling station without a form of accepted ID will be unable to vote.

Newpark, Talbot Green Community Pop-up
Last week we visited Newpark, Talbot Green as part of our community pop-up event.
The team at Newydd spoke to tenants about how we can support them, any concerns they have and we also tidied up the estate by litter picking!
If we missed you, give us a call to report any issues you may have or contact us for any support you need.
Helping Tenants Use Air Source Heat Pumps with a Simple Digital Solution
With new homes being built with air source heat pumps, it’s important that our tenants understand how to use them.
Our Digital Inclusion Team has worked closely with our tenants and Mitsubishi Electrical to create digital video guides on how to use this new technology.
The team help our tenants and the wider community to gain new skills in using computers, tablets and accessing services like online shopping, job searching, accessing your Government Gateway account or online banking. We can also support you to gain computer skills qualifications.
