Enjoy Christmas on a budget

If you’re looking to save some money this season, here are some tips to enjoy Christmas this year on a budget!

  1. Ask guests to bring a dish: If you’re hosting, you could ask guests to bring a dish. This will make the meal more affordable and everyone can contribute.

  2. Set a budget: Decide how much you’re going to spend on food, presents and decorations. Prioritise your spending and cut back where needed.

  3. Re-gifting: Have you received a gift that you’ve never used? If you think someone else would enjoy it, why not gift it to them? (Just make sure it’s not the person who gave you the gift)

  4. Set Expectations with your Family: Let your family and friends know you’re having a budget-friendly Christmas, they may appreciate your honesty.

  5. Buy second-hand: You can find some really good prices if you buy gifts second-hand. Search charity shops or online marketplaces to find some deals!

  6. Create your own decorations: You can use greenery, old wrapping paper and jars to create homemade Christmas decorations.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our competition last month for our 50th birthday!
