Important Update: Moving To Universal Credit

If you're currently receiving legacy benefits such as Jobseeker’s Allowance or Housing Benefit, you’ll soon receive a Migration Notice inviting you to move to Universal Credit.
You don’t need to do anything until you receive this notice.
When you do, it’s important to respond by the deadline included in your letter to continue receiving financial support.
We’re here to help.
If you have any questions or concerns about the move to Universal Credit, please get in touch by emailing enquiries@newydd.co.uk, calling 0303 040 1998, or text 07422128780.

Allowing Access To Your Home For Fire Safety Checks

At times, our team will need access to your home to take care of essential fire safety checks such as gas and boiler servicing. This usually only happens once a year, we will give you plenty of notice, and are happy to schedule for a mutually convenient time or make reasonable adjustments if you have any concerns.
It’s very important that our team can conduct these inspections to ensure your home, family, and neighbours are safe. We ask kindly that you allow access to your home for repairs and inspections.
Although always a last resort, as it’s a legal requirement to conduct these inspections, failure to comply may lead to an application to the court for an injunction to gain entry.
Pride Cymru - Hate Has No Home Here

It was great to join friends and partners from across the social housing sector at the Pride Cymru 2025 parade to show hate has no home here. And families at our colleagues at Cadwyn’s supported housing hostel got in on the festivities by beautifully decorating Nightingale House in rainbow colours.
Device Borrowing Scheme - Delivering Alexas To The Community

This month, as part of our Digital Inclusion Team’s Device Borrow Scheme, 15 Amazon Alexa devices were delivered to Newydd residents through a fantastic community benefits initiative from TW Group South Wales Ltd.
Helping to bridge the digital divide in our community, the Alexas have helped make everyday tasks for residents such as listening to music and radio, getting news & weather, setting reminders & alarms, controlling smart devices, and enjoying entertainment easier than ever.
We’ve already helped some tenants set up their devices and have more visits planned. We’re also creating easy-to-follow guides and resources to help everyone get the most out of their new tech.
Interested in using our device borrow scheme? Call 0303 040 1998 or email enquiries@newydd.co.uk.
Charity Coffee Afternoon Raises Money For Woody's Lodge

On the 8th of May, Newydd residents at Elis Fisher Court & Philippa Freeth Court held a coffee afternoon with various activities including a raffle to raise money for Woody’s Lodge veterans charity. We were overjoyed that the charity’s founder David Trotman was able to join us to receive a cheque for £365.18 for their work supporting, mentoring and signposting veterans. Thanks to everyone involved!
