Register for Clare Garden Village affordable homes

We're working in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to provide nine 3 bedroom homes and four 1 bedroom apartments for rent in Cowbridge this summer.

This first phase marks the start of the provision of 133 affordable homes for rent and 57 first time buyer homes for sale to be provided by us and the Vale of Glamorgan Council at Clare Garden Village

We will shortly be advertising these homes however local residents must be ready to apply by registering with Homes4U, the housing register for the county managed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Debra Roberts, Housing Officer at Newydd said, “We would like to encourage local residents to register with Homes4U should they be interested in renting one of these brand new homes. It is important to emphasise in their application their connection to Cowbridge, Llanblethian or Aberthin, whether this is through work, family or if they currently reside in the town. A local lettings policy is in place for these stunning properties which will prioritise people with a link to the area.”

In addition to homes for affordable rent, homes exclusively for sale to first time buyers will be available from spring 2020. We will be selling four 2-bedroom houses to people with a connection to Cowbridge and the close surrounding areas. To be eligible to purchase these homes, first time buyers must register with Aspire2Own, a scheme managed by the Vale of Glamorgan Council that supports first time buyers to get onto the property ladder.

Steven Thomas, Chair of Cowbridge and Llanblethian Residents’ Group said, “We fully endorse Newydd’s approach and are very keen that people with Cowbridge connections have priority when the houses are allocated.”

Residents interested in owning or renting an affordable home at Clare Garden Village can register with Aspire2Own here, and Homes4U here.

We'll be advertising available properties in local newspapers, on our website, social media and through the Vale of Glamorgan Council website.
