We have teamed up with partners to deliver Christmas hampers to the community
We are delivering Christmas hampers to people in need, thanks to donations from our contractors.
The Christmas hamper appeal has received overwhelming support from WK Plasterers, Sterling Construction, Pinnacle Scaffolding, Airtech Solutions, M Delacy and Sons, and Jasonic who have each given a monetary contribution to purchase hamper contents.
Shannon Maidment, Community Regeneration Coordinator at Newydd said, “We are working with our contractors to support our communities through our Community Benefits programme. Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible to run the appeal on this scale this year. I am blown away by their generosity and can’t wait to share what we have achieved with our tenants in need.”
A total of 40 hampers will be delivered to individuals and families going through financial difficulties over the festive period. Recipients have been identified by Newydd’s Financial Inclusion Team who have provided money advice to more than 500 tenants this year.
The hampers will include recipe cards and bespoke cook along videos funded by the Hapi Project. Lisa Voyle, Senior Project Officer for the Hapi project said, “This year our focus is to provide tenants with three substantial meals per day for a week utilising store cupboard ingredients. We hope that tenants enjoy creating these recipes and would like to thank Cooking Together Wales for the development of the recipes, also our contractors and Newydd staff for all their efforts in getting these hampers to our tenants in time for Christmas.”
All hampers will be delivered in the lead up to Christmas by Newydd staff in accordance to Covid-19 guidelines.
