Acquired by Newydd in March 2017, these brand new homes were built on the Gene Metals site near Treforest Football Club by contractors Jehu Project Services in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and the Welsh Government.

Treforest lies south east of Pontypridd to the west of the river Taff and has a historical connection to the Crawshay family who established major tinplate works in the area in the early 19th century.

Newydd’s development of 44 brand new 1, 2 and 4 bedroom apartments, bungalows and houses for affordable rent was named by local residents through a competition.
