How to make a FaceTime call

FaceTime allows users of iPhone, iPad, and Apple Mac devices to video call other Apple devices for free if you have access to Wi-Fi or 4g.

Please note: You cannot make a FaceTime call using Android devices.

Below are the steps to make a FaceTime call:

1. Navigate to and open ‘Facetime’

2. Click the ‘+’ icon located at the top right of the screen

3. Enter the name, email address or phone number of the contact

4. Click ‘Audio’ or ‘Video’ to start the call


Below are the steps to make a group FaceTime call

Please note: To use group FaceTime calls, you need iOS 12.1.4 or later, or iPadOS on one of these devices: iPhone 6s or later, iPad Pro or later, iPad Air 2 or later, iPad mini 4 or later, iPad (5th generation) or later, or iPod touch (7th generation). Earlier models of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch that support iOS 12.1.4 can join Group FaceTime calls as audio participants.

1. Navigate to and open ‘Facetime’

2. Click the ‘+’ icon located at the top right of the screen

3. Enter the names, email addresses or phone numbers of the contact

4. Click ‘Audio’ or ‘Video’ to start the call
