Affordable homes for nearly 40 years
2014 will mark the 40th anniversary of our formation as the original Newydd Housing Association. The Cadarn Housing Group was established as Newydd Housing Association in 1974. In 1998, a group structure was formed with the Cadarn Housing Group as the parent company and Newydd Housing Association as a subsidiary.
Newydd is a charitable housing association that offers 2,600 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales. The Newydd vision is simply to provide affordable, sustainable homes with excellent customer service to tenants and customers. This is our goal and everything we do is intended to bring us closer to achieving it.
Newydd together with the Welsh Government and Vale of Glamorgan Council part fund Care and Repair in the Vale of Glamorgan as well as deliver the scheme for the area. It is one of a network of Care and Repair services across Wales that enable older home-owners to have work carried out to their homes whether it is a repair, renovation or adaptation. Cadarn Information Services is part of the Cadarn Housing Group and offers information technology services to housing associations and Supporting People organisations across the UK.
