Lyn Bond

Lyn has been a tenant member of the Newydd Board since September 2009. Lyn is also the Board Champion for Community Regeneration.

Richard Coombe

Richard is an IT Manager currently working in the public sector with experience of working in different sectors including the housing association sector. Richard has been a member of the Cadarn Board since May 2011.

Matthew Dicks

Matthew is the Director for Chartered Institute of Housing and has a keen interest in public policy with a background in communities. Matthew is a member of the Cadarn Board and serves on the Group Audit and Risk Committee, Matthew is also Board Champion for Risk.

Victoria Evans

Victoria’s career includes housing roles within the local authority sector, she currently works for the Pobl Housing Group. Victoria joined the Newydd Board in May 2011 and currently serves as Chair.

Claire Marshall

Claire has over ten years of post-qualified experience in Audit, Finance, Corporate Finance and Risk roles.  Claire is Chair of the Cadarn Board and has been a member since April 2015. Claire also serves as a nominee on the Newydd Board and on the Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Goi Ashmore

Goi's financial and treasury experience is wide ranging and includes Funding, Asset and Liability Management and Interest Rate management and cash operations, gained within a large UK Retail and Corporate Bank. Goi has been a member of the Cadarn Board since April 2015 and is currently Chair of the Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Steven Gammon

Steven is a long standing Newydd tenant and has worked for a local authority as a Street Care Cleansing and Enforcement Manager for over 16 years. Steven has been a members of the Newydd Board since September 2015.

Owen Griffiths

Owen  works for Cardiff Council as Senior Legal Officer, he has been elected as a Community Councillor and also serves as a School Governor. Owen has been a tenant elected board member for Newydd since September 2015, and is the Customer Care and Equalities Champion.  Owen also serves on the Cadarn Board and Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Rhys Thomas

Rhys is a construction Management & the Environment Graduate with 6 years' experience in the UK open market and social housing sectors.  Rhys is currently working towards chartered CIOB membership status.  Rhys has been a member of the Newydd Board since 2016 and is the Asset Management, Physical Regeneration & Development Champion. Rhys also serves on the Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Helen Walbey

Helen has a background in small businesses and is a Director for 'Recycle Scooters'. Helen is currently working towards a PHD in Gender & Enterprise and has a keen interest in equality, diversity and inclusion.  Helen has been a member of the Newydd Board since September 2016.

Deb Austin

Deb is an experienced professional whose career spans 20 years within leadership, management, governance, teaching and workforce development.  She has significant strategic experience of working nationally across the UK and within National Governing Bodies. Deb has been a member of the Cadarn Board since September 2016 and also serves on the Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Sophie Bailie

Sophie is an experienced housing professional with extensive knowledge and experience working in the homelessness sector. Sophie joined the Newydd Board as an observer in January 2017 and was subsequently co-opted to Board Membership in March 2017.

Debbie Evans

Debbie has a background in finance and business development and has worked closely with Housing Associations in providing tenancy ready projects. Debbie joined the Newydd Board as an observer in October 2016 and was subsequently co-opted to Board Membership in March 2017.

Shani Payter

Shani is a  Newydd tenant and works for the Vale of Glamorgan Council as a Community Investment & Involvement Officer. Shani joined the Newydd Board in October 2016 as an observer and was subsequently co-opted to Board Membership in March 2017. Shani is also the Board Value for Money champion.

Martin Rolph

Martin has extensive experience in Public policy and governance and has a background of serving on Boards/Strategic panels for a variety of organisations.  Martin joined the Cadarn Board as an Observer in March 2017 and subsequently appointed in September 2017. Martin also serves as Vice Chair for Cadarn.

Iorwen Brooks-Jones

Iorwen is an experienced legal professional specialising in landlord and tenant, company and private international law.  Iorwen joined the Cadarn Bard as an Observer in March 2017 and was subsequently appointed in September 2017.

Kris Ablett

Kris is a Financial Manager with a background in operational, HR, Finance and learning & development disciplines. Kris currently works for Newport City Homes in a management role within the Customer Services Team. Kris joined the Cadarn Board as an Observer in March 2017 and was subsequently appointed in September 2017.

Chris Dawson-Morris

Chris has a background in public policy and currently works for the NHS Trust as an Associate Director.  Chris joined the Newydd Board as an Observer in March 2017 and was subsequently appointed in September 2017. Chris is also the Anti-Social Behaviour champion for the Board.


Become a Board member

Newydd has reserved up to four places on the Board for tenants. Board members serve for a three year term and then must stand for election again. If you are interested in standing for election please contact Hana who will be happy to provide more details on the role and the requirements of the election process.
